Deputy GM – Aerospace Technical Training

OVERVIEW
Our client is one of Asia’s largest MRO providers to the Aerospace sector providing line & heavy maintenance, component repair & engine overhaul services to clients in the aviation industry. With plans to increase their Hangar capacity in Asia & the US, the business is committed to providing an extensive program of training of Aircraft Technicians, Licensed Aircraft Engineers (LAE), inspectors & planners to help support their continued expansion of their Aviation MRO operations and we are working with them to recruit a Deputy General Manager to help run & improve their Aviation Training Centre.
The successful candidate will possess around 10 – 15 years Aviation industry background with a good knowledge of approval process and system from Aviation Authorities (i.e. CAAS, EASA, JCAB, etc). In this role you will be responsible for ensuring course content constantly update to meet the requirements & practices of the industry, ensure smooth running of the Training facility & courses plus provide the vision & Business acumen to help improve the services offered & ultimately profitability of the training department.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES;
• Provide strategic advice to market training capabilities to the aviation industry. You will be responsible for marketing and expanding the technical training business while ensuring the profitability and growth of the business.
• Responsible for the planning, organizing, leading and supervising the technical training team and ensuring majority of the technical instructors are cross-trained.
• Ensure that training targets are met and maintained in accordance with airlines requirements and business needs are met.
• Responsible for budgetary planning at the training centre and leading regular reviews on technical training course development to ensure all in-house training meet requirements demanded for production within budget and timeline
• Ensuring that the Training and Examination standard conforms to regulations set by the awarding body, build appropriate external partnerships and work with key stakeholders to continually monitor the standard of the training programme
• You will have proven capabilities as a manager with a proactive and flexible approach, pragmatism and the ability to deal with ambiguity. You will need to have the ability to manage continuous organisational change and you will have excellent written and verbal communication skill to present clear, well-structured reports / briefs and build good relationships both internally and with external partners
• Explore new technical training capabilities regarding aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul businesses
• Determine short and long-term financial needs to assess current financial situations.
• Building a strong culture within Training Centre with data driven decision making

BACKGROUND & EXPEREICNE:
• You will possess a minimum of 10 years or more of aviation related experience, preferably in a Technical Training Environment or QA in aerospace sector with an Engineering degree from a globally recognized university
• You will have a good working knowledge of airlines training standards and knowledge of approval process and system from Aviation Authorities (i.e. CAAS, EASA, JCAB, etc)
• A self-motivated leader, highly analytical and a good team player you will have proven experience of coaching and mentoring
• A commercial savvy and individual possess problem solving skills and thrive in a dynamic environment
• Ideally you will possess CAAS certification is an advantage and have worked in a 145 and/or 147 organization and if you have run a learning institution before would be a distinct advantage
