• Job Summary
  Responsible for working with the global Information Services and business teams to define, analyze, design, and build robust and scalable reporting and analytic solutions for strategic initiatives at all levels of our company. This individual will apply business process knowledge and business subject matter expertise with proven analytical and problem-solving skills to maximize the benefit of reporting solutions to the business.

Essential Functions & Accountabilities

• Work closely with the Client’sbusiness to translate analytic requirements into designs for reporting

• Document Client’sbusiness requirements for reporting

• Perform data analysis to understand and communicate reporting business rules

• Resolves simple to complex reporting and data integrity problems in creative ways.

• Build reporting solutions in IBM Cognos v10 and v11

• Develops effective reporting and data test scenarios, scripts and use cases with consideration to cross functional and business impact

• Carries out procedures to ensure that all reporting and analytic solutions and services meet quality, organizational standards and end user requirements.

• Perform training to end users on reporting solutions

• Aid in preparation of time and cost estimates for reporting solutions

• Provide operational support to global reporting user base

• Analyze and review BI developer and vendor work output

• Scope
  Working with our internal business partners (Finance, Commercial, Operations) and the IT team to build IBM Cognos reports, dashboards, and analytic solutions to support regional and global reporting and analytics.
  Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Possess a thorough understanding of and expertise in the delivery of:

• IBM Cognos Reporting and Analytics (v10 and v11)

• Data (logical & physical) Modeling tools and methodologies in data design

• Data Warehouse methodologies

• Relational and Dimensional Design concepts

• OLTP, OLAP and DSS implementations

• Oracle, SQL Server Databases, Indexes, Views, Etc.

• Complex SQL Development

• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Reviews user requirements for new reporting, data sets, source data, and analytic capabilities to existing solutions and performs analysis, design, development, testing, installation and training for BI solutions.

• Provides technical advice and support to end users. This includes creating ad-hoc reports, data analysis and correction, training and problem solving.

• Carries out fact finding and data analysis of data integrity problems and applies established procedures for resolution.

• May guide or oversee the work of other BI developers.

• Experience
  5+ years of experience building BI solutions for reporting and analysis in IBM Cognos

• Education

• Bachelors or Master’s Degree in relevant field or equivalent experience is required
