Job description

Our client is an established telecommunications company listed in Fortune 500. They are looking for a Carrier Relations Manager to be responsible for managing vendors and associated spend which supports the APAC budget (including vendor management, contract negotiation and management, facilitation of performance management and directions for improvement plans).


  • To achieve NetEx savings through management of circuit term, negotiate cost-waivers and reduce base inventory.

  • Process request to vendors, verify reduction and ensure savings reflect positively in reports.

  • To monitor company’s performance against procurement plans and revenue responsibilities and taking action towards misspend unaligned with requirements.

  • Negotiate reduced cost rate sheets and review spend with key vendors.

  • Ensure vendor agreements meets product service level requirements, industry standards and internal company policies.

  • Consolidate all previous agreements into a purchase contract, most desirable, for Asia Pacific region and ensure contract approval process align with company’s expenditure and Fiscal Approval Policy.

  • Assist in achieving competitive pricing for large RFPs and resolving vendor disputes with internal organization.

  • Manage, monitor and proactively initiate service improvement programs for vendors when service expectations and commitments are not met according to contractual agreement, which impacts customer experience; follow up all actions and focus on driving outcome towards identified criteria.

  • Involved in overlooking new internal network vendors and new product services added to existing contract agreements.

  • Develop business relationships and plans with carriers, maximizing buying potential for Asia Pacific region.

  • Develop and monitoring KPI for suppliers, gather enough data to analyse trend and recommendations, including high quality management information for Executive and Senior Executive reviews.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or Telecommunications

  • Relevant experience of 6 – 8 years in similar role and strong relationships with major carrier providers in Asia Pacific

  • Prior operational experiences in telecommunications (e.g. planning, marketing, provisioning, project management, account management or contract management)

  • Proven experiences in negotiating MSAs and SLAs, establish new vendors

  • Ability to work with multi-national team and building strong relationship with cross-departments

  • Problem solving individual who is adaptable and results-oriented with strong customer service focus.

  • Financial and business acumen, individual must be self-motivated, multitasking and has excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese, verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to solve issues and create opportunities from the interpretation of LEC tariffs and purchase agreement terms and conditions

  • Excellent knowledge of last mile access technologies and data network solutions.
