Overview:

Our client is a global market leader in the manufacture & sales of viscose fibre products, their products are used for a wide range of household consumer goods from furniture textiles & clothing to personal hygiene. With their state-of-the-art high-tech plants & mills producing high-quality low cost fibre & products they are looking to further cement their place at the top of the viscose fibre market & are expanding their operations across the Region. As a result we are working with them to recruit a new Head of Sales / Commercial Head to help grow their Regional Sales team & achieve revenue targets.

A commercially astute Sales/Business Development professional you will ideally have a background in the Manufacturing sector - either/or textiles (fibre / nylon / polyester / viscose / cotton), commodity Chemicals or similar -  able to both liaise internally with Manufacturing Operations teams (including R&D / Quality / Procurement / Production) to ensure Production is able to meet sales pipeline requirements as well as develop & execute Sales & Marketing Strategies to achieve ambitious sales targets for products sold in Europe, the Americas and Asia

The successful candidate will have proven track record in Commodity Sales environment, able to fix pricing structure in volatile price markets. You will ideally have had previous exposure to Upstream raw materials market, selling to textile industry and/or Downstream market exposure selling to end users.

 

Responsibilities:

  • You will be required to drive the coordination of global Viscose Staple Fibre (VSF) sales to various market segments.

  • Coordinate between the production operations and sales teams on volume and pricing.

  • Formulate strategic marketing plans to align with global business objectives.

  • Develop strategy for VSF sales in each market to fulfil growth and annual profitability targets.

  • Build positive business relationships with key accounts / customers for long-term business sustainability.

  • Strengthen sales & marketing capability in each key country office through talent acquisition and/or people development efforts.

  • This role will be based in Singapore with extensive travel across the Region

 

Background & Experience:

  • Bachelor degree holder. MBA preferred.

  • At least 15 years experience in global B2B sales and marketing management,  in bulk commodities or oil & gas industry, of which at least 6 years in a senior commercial management capacity

  • Strong in operations, demonstrated experience in managing the value chain from production to customers.

  • Understanding textile industry and viscose market will be advantageous.

  • Proven track record in Global role as Commercial Head or Director.

  • Commercially savvy with high business acumen.

  • Excellent interpersonal, writing and presentation skills.

  • Good leadership and people management skills.

  • Proficient communication in English, knowledge of Mandarin language will be advantageous as dealing with Chinese internal & external stakeholders.
