Job description

​Financial Controller position (Singapore focused) with a High Growth Media/Advertising Brand

As the Singapore Head of Finance leading 2 direct reports and reporting directly into the Regional Finance Director based outside of Singapore; you will work closely with the Managing Director, Senior Leadership and Regional Finance teams to own and drive the Singapore finance growth strategies.

You will be leading the full suite of financial operational management, including commercial FP&A business partnering needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Management

• Partner with the Singapore Managing Director to prepare and submit monthly Forecasts

• Prepare monthly high-level financial reporting, analysis, and commentary

• Manage the annual Budget process including financial strategy development

• Financial Control & Business Management

• Cashflow Management by overseeing debtors and collections, payroll, and capital expenditure

• Oversee month-end closing activities

• Review P&L and Balance Sheet, identifying material variances vs forecast

• Review and reconcile monthly payroll

• Assist the Managing Director to ensure staff hiring plans are met

• Ensuring that overall financial processes and controls are in place and adhered to in line with Group policy
  

Client Finance

• Review client contracts and statement of works.

• Assist in project pricing assessment and arrangements including exposure to cross border taxes

• Partner Client Finance leads providing strong financial counsel

​Statutory Reporting

• Oversee external audits ensuring regulatory requirements are promptly met

• Oversee the preparation and submission of annual corporate income tax

• Ensure compliance with statutory law and financial regulations

Key Requirements:

• Degree in Accountancy and with CPA / CA qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Finance Manager/Senior Finance Manager capacity, or 3 years’ experience in a Financial Controller position

• Strong preference for candidates with prior Media, Agency, Advertising, or Services related industry background

• Strong preference for candidates who have operated in a lean team set up, leading and upskilling the full finance function

• Strong Excel skills

• Proven track record with process improvements, automation and systems implementation

• Excellent stakeholder management and presentation skills

• Strong ability to influence senior key local and regional stakeholders
