Job description

Our client is a leader in clinical diagnostics to the pathology market.

The position will drive indirect procurement in the APAC region and act as a business partner with cost center owners and functional leaders. It is responsible for all Indirect Spend and will be the regional lead contact for sourcing, defining and maintaining the APAC Indirect Spend.

 

Responsibilities

  • Implement short and long term strategies designed to reduce costs and improve quality and service and meet company goals and objectives

  • Monitor compliance to company procurement policies.

  • Achieve cost savings objectives through creative procurement strategies, vendor selection and review, and favourable contract agreements.

  • Prepare and execute bid packages utilizing RFIs, RFPs, and reverse auctions

  • Develop supply agreements with suppliers to meet the short, mid, and long- term needs of the business. Agreements must deliver the lowest total cost for materials and services while allowing flexibility to adapt to the changing organizational requirements

  • Support multi-site negotiations for business terms and develop contracts for the supply of both standard and complex products and services with new and existing suppliers.

  • Monitor supply markets and trends (e.g., price increases, shortages, changes in suppliers) and interpret the impact of these trends on company strategies ensuring category management techniques are executed to gain the maximum value for prices paid

  • Identify the critical materials and services required to support company strategies in key performance areas

  • Ensure internal customer adhere to the delegation of authority and procurement processes

  • Support spend requestors with effective, efficient, and compliant procurement transactional tools & processes

  • Implement robust communication mechanisms with internal functions to gather their business requirements

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in procurement/logistics/supply chain

  • Understanding of the indirect marketplace

  • Negotiations, analytical, problem solving and project management skills

  • Ability to collect, analyze and integrate information

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Interpersonal/intercultural skills would be an asset

  • Experience in contract development, execution and management

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, rates, proportions, percentages

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data

  • Ability to work well in a multicultural, cross functional, pan APAC environment

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in communicating concepts and recommendations

  • Experience in structuring contracts and managing business relationships

  • Full proficiency in use of computer tools including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Exchange for effective analysis and communication

  • Travel (required estimated % of time)

  • Approximately 10%, including overseas trips
