IT Business Partner (Semiconductor Industry)

Job description

​The IT Business Partner (ITBP) serves as the single point of contact between the Global IT organization and the assigned business function/s via the Business Functional Owner (BFO). The ITBP co-leads with the BFO on the determination, shaping and delivery of strategic functional capabilities roadmap to the business function/s. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The ITBP and BFO translate the business function strategy into strategic program initiatives that delivers business capabilities through IT. The ITBP translates these IT capabilities, applying ‘Best Practices’ knowledge, into high-level project proposals and works with the BFO and business project teams to develop business cases that are presented to the IT Projects Board for consideration.

• Actively gathers needs and identifies opportunities for business performance improvements and liaises with the BFO regularly on the qualification and prioritization of the planned projects as well as the raised change requests and severity of open incidents.

• Challenges and questions the business need in order to understand the underlying rational and root causes behind a business issues or a strategic initiatives and how it aligns to the business strategy objectives and communicates this back to the rest of the Global IT organization

• Gathers regular key updates from the business functions and keep the Global IT organization up-to-date.

• Works with other ITBP to merge the functional roadmaps into a consolidation IT roadmap that aligns with the overall Company Objectives.

• Ensures the solution for all proposed projects and changes are in line with the IT architecture and standards published by the Global IT Architecture board. 

• Collaborate with the Global IT Infrastructure and Operations Manager and Global IT Application Manager on the IT resource demand vs capability planning process to ensure optimized uses of IT resources.

• Provide oversight on the projects in partnership with BFO through the project lifecycle phases all the way ensuring business case benefits are realized.

• Collaborates with other ITBP on integration and architectural changes to ensure a seamless cross-functional solution. 

• May be required to act as IT project manager in some projects deploying through the project lifecycle phases as needed.

• Advises and coach analysis and implementation work carried out by team members in projects.  

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering

• At least 15 years relevant corporate IT experience in a multicultural environment with hi-tech (high mix, low volume) manufacturing companies

• Experience in SAP MM, PP, QM and PS

• Strong knowledge of best practices in Global Operations Management including functional areas like Sales and Operations Planning, Design for Manufacturing and Assembly, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement and Inventory Management.

• Practical knowledge of industry 4.0 or smart factory would be an advantage.

• “Nice to have” modules are SAP SD, CO, ME/MII and SAP Ariba but takes agnostic view on technology, focusing on solutions that meet the needs.
