Job description

Our client is one of the American global investment firm with strong presence in Asia. They are currently looking for a Head of Marketing, Asia to be based in Singapore. This role will report to the Regional Business Head and with a dotted line into Global Head of Marketing.

The role supports the firm’s strategic plans for growth in the distribution channels within the Asia region, by leading a team of dedicated marketing experts in the formulation of strategic marketing plans, developing campaign concepts, and having overall responsibility for deployment of industry-leading marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Develops regional strategic marketing plans based on client and market insights, understanding the firm-wide, regional and country business objectives and positioning.

  • Effectively engages with regional and country stakeholders to craft the strategic marketing plan to meet business objectives and priorities and to contribute into global marketing plans.

  • Work closely with the Asia Head and key regional business stakeholders to develop the strategic marketing plan to ensure consistency of approach, budget allocation, and overall strategic objectives.

  • Converts the marketing strategy and business objectives into tangible regional marketing campaigns and activities that would achieve those objectives, create engagement with clients, and build a new-to-firm client pipeline

  • Reviews globally-produced marketing content, creative and thought leadership for applicability to the local markets and required level of adaptation needed for local use.

  • Identifies where regional-specific thought leadership or product marketing is required and builds these requirements into the marketing plan.

  • Develops a robust understanding of the Asia retail and institutional client segments

  • Defines and prioritizes the types of clients, market or product insights needed to develop robust marketing strategies and plans, consulting with regional business stakeholders to determine areas of interest for insight programs.

  • Communicates global and regional insights to regional business stakeholders and country marketing teams.

  • Prepares recommendations related to strategic insights and intelligence gathered.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 15 years of marketing experience in the financial sector

  • Strong knowledge of mutual fund industry in both institutional and retail channels in Asia region

  • Proven track record of strong marketing experience gained within asset management industry

  • Strong knowledge of communication principles and marketing techniques & marketing efficiency tools

  • Possess excellent communication skills and ability to interact with representatives of various business units and effective working relationships across all levels

  • Strong leadership with prior people management experience .

  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills

  • Travelling is required
