Job description
We’re seeking an experienced Support Engineer to join a global financial technology organization that delivers mission-critical trading and market infrastructure solutions. Working within a collaborative support team, you will play a key role in ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of business-critical trading applications used across multiple regions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor and support global trading applications, ensuring platform availability and operational stability.
Investigate and resolve production incidents using structured troubleshooting, log analysis, and system diagnostics.
Support critical operational processes, including Start of Day, End of Day, and trading environment readiness activities.
Coordinate incident management activities, including major incident response, stakeholder communication, and recovery efforts.
Participate in change and release processes, including deployment support, impact assessments, and post-release validation.
Maintain and enhance monitoring, dashboards, and alerting capabilities to improve system visibility and reliability.
Analyse recurring issues and contribute to long-term platform improvements through automation and process optimisation.
Collaborate with Business, Operations, Development, and Infrastructure teams to deliver reliable production services.
Contribute to the evolution of support practices toward Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and operational excellence.
REQUIREMENTS:
Experience supporting business-critical applications within financial services, trading environments, or other high-availability systems.
Strong understanding of AWS services and cloud operations, including load balancing, failover, compute, and database services.
Proven experience in incident management, root cause analysis, and production support.
Ability to interpret application logs and diagnose complex backend issues.
Knowledge of market data, trading workflows, messaging systems, or real-time transactional platforms.
Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK, or Splunk.
Understanding of change management, deployment validation, and operational risk controls.
Exposure to automation, reliability engineering, or SRE concepts, including observability, MTTD, and MTTR improvements.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and modern software delivery processes.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
