This role is ideal for an experienced production support professional who thrives in high-availability environments and is passionate about operational excellence, reliability engineering, and continuous improvement.
As a senior member of the team, you will take ownership of the stability, performance, and operational readiness of global trading platforms, leading incident resolution, driving reliability initiatives, and influencing engineering decisions from a production support perspective.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the investigation and resolution of complex production incidents, ensuring accurate root cause identification and long-term remediation.
Own the operational health and stability of assigned trading applications and services across global environments.
Monitor system performance, service health, and operational risks, ensuring rapid response to incidents and emerging issues.
Act as the technical lead during major incidents, coordinating diagnosis, recovery activities, and stakeholder communications.
Drive improvements in observability, monitoring, alerting, and operational visibility to enhance platform reliability.
Lead production impact assessments for releases and changes, ensuring risks are identified and appropriately mitigated.
Champion post-incident reviews and continuous improvement initiatives, tracking preventative actions through completion.
Identify and implement automation opportunities to reduce operational toil and improve service efficiency.
Analyze incident trends and platform performance to drive systemic reliability and resilience improvements.
Collaborate closely with Engineering, DevOps, Operations, and Business teams to support critical trading services and influence platform strategy.
Contribute to the adoption of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, reliability metrics, and production engineering standards.
REQUIREMENTS:
Extensive experience supporting business-critical applications within financial services, trading environments, or other high-availability platforms.
Strong expertise in AWS operational environments, including load balancing, failover strategies, compute services, and managed databases.
Proven experience leading major incident management, production support, and complex troubleshooting activities.
Deep understanding of electronic trading workflows, market data flows, pricing mechanisms, and session-based connectivity.
Strong analytical and root cause analysis skills with the ability to diagnose complex backend and distributed system issues.
Experience with observability and monitoring platforms such as Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK, or Splunk.
Strong understanding of change management, deployment validation, operational risk, and production readiness processes.
Experience working with globally distributed teams and supporting multi-region operational environments.
Knowledge of FIX protocols, messaging systems, market connectivity, or real-time transactional platforms is highly desirable.
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automated deployment frameworks.
Demonstrated experience improving MTTD, MTTR, platform resilience, and operational efficiency through automation and process improvement.
Understanding of SRE principles, including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, reliability metrics, and production engineering best practices.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical issues into business-relevant outcomes.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
