ACCOUNTANT ROLE WITH ENERGY COMPANY

Job description

​Our client, an energy company with an aim to become a market leader in the advanced green chemical and energy space is currently looking for an accountant with 2-3 years of full set experience in the commodities industry.

The successful candidate will report to a Senior Finance Manager. This role is suitable for an Accounts professional who is looking for a challenge in a dynamic global trading environment while getting the unique opportunity to develop a profound understanding of the global energy markets, the related end-to-end accounting and corresponding reporting cycle.

Key responsibilities:

• Responsible for all statutory financial statements, management reporting, Marked-to-Market (MTM)/Trade Accounting including GST, WHT and annual tax filing

• Prepare accounting schedules and monthly analytical review of fluctuation in financial positions and performance

• Handle monthly, quarterly, annual closings and year-end audit

• Involve in daily analysis of trade flows or transactions, monthly cargo P&L and weekly forecast

• Maintain relations with internal and external stakeholders over a spectrum of finance matters

• Support in implementation of finance projects and systems

• Provide support in group consolidation work and Corporate Taxes matters including but not limited to Corporate Income Tax, GST and Transfer Pricing -GTP

• Improve and simplify existing processes

• Any other Accounting and Finance related duties assigned

Qualifications & Skillset

• Degree in Accounting/Finance; CA or ACCA qualification

• Preferably 2-3 years of accounting experience. Fresh graduates with relevant knowledge and experience may apply.

• Analytical, meticulous with strong communication skills and the ability to operate with flexibility in a fast-paced, evolving, and collaborative environment

• Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices

• Can-do attitude with a strong sense of responsibility and ability to execute

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office is a must

• Fluency in English and Mandarin is important to converse with stakeholders
