Overview

Our client is a market leading integrated contract manufacturer serving the consumer electronics, telecommunications & computer / IT hardware manufacturing industries with manufacturing operations in SE Asia (inc Singapore), Europe & China. We are currently working with them to recruit an Assistant General Manager to manage their Singapore facility which specializes in manufacture of Precision injection molded plastic components for Hard Disc Drive & Medical devices products.

In this job you will be responsible for the smooth operation of the manufacturing plant employing 300-400 staff with oversight of Production / Tooling / Engineering / Quality / Business Development / HR / Finance / Supply Chain Business functions. You will have previous experience of working in Electronics manufacturing sector, able to work in a fast paced environment & possess a proven track record of running similar sized plant.

As AGM you maintain extensive interaction with other division managers of the company, corporate management team, production / operations team, sales network as well as with external partners such as suppliers and local authorities.

 

Responsibilities:

  • In this role you will have P&L responsibility for manufacturing operations

  • Overall management responsibility for Production, Quality, Process Optimization and Maintenance as well as Finance, HR, Administration and EHS Business functions

  • You will be required to ensure maintenance of high standards of operation & implement measures to increase production yield, reduce production cost & reduce working capital

  • You will be expected to drive excellence in service and quality and ensure safe work practises at all times.

  • You will also oversee CAPEX projects, identify new investments for growth & ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and meeting the expected quality

  • You will be required to establish & maintain good working relationships with external customers, understanding their needs and requirements in order to provide the appropriate quality and service

  • You will also be responsible for team management & development, strengthening the team, and upgrading competencies and skills level of the team where required.

  • You will also be required to work closely with various departments internally to ensure a coherent ‘teamwork’ focused approach

  • External stakeholder management will be required to maintain and develop good working  relationships with local authorities

 

Background & Experience Required:

  • Minimum Bachelor Degree and strong Engineering background

  • Good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills

  • At least 10 years of working experience in manufacturing environment and 3 years in the senior management capacity
