Director / Senior Manager – Private Markets Services (Operations)

Job description

Our client, an investment management company, is looking to hire a Senior Manager for their Private Markets Services (Operations) in Singapore.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will lead a team who oversees the operational support functions of the private investments. You will handle the development of the team and its capabilities, including response to changes in market practices or investment vehicles. You will also participate in project initiatives involving private asset investments. You will add value to the implementation and design of the target state model to support the division's ambitions. It will include process design, training, automation, and implementation, and will require an ongoing assessment of market practices.

Additionally, you will work closely with the Alternative/Private Assets portfolio management teams (including Private Equity, Venture Capital, Private Credit, and Real Estate), Company’s internal clients, external managers, and service providers to ensure that services are being performed and are meeting expectations. You will work with the Funds and Fund Investment Service teams by providing subject matter inputs into the fund structure design (share classes, dividend distribution, performance fee) and ensure fund documentation and legal agreements are appropriate and updated.

REQUIREMENTS:
To qualify, individuals must possess:

• Bachelor qualified

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the asset management industry or private asset management, including management of private investments.

• At least 5 years of experience in managing a team

• MUST have a solid background in end to end investment processes, controls, and technologies for private assets

• Knowledgeable of how to fund vehicles such as SICAV or Singapore unit trusts/VCC operate is an advantage

• Experience with relationship management and effective oversight of external service providers and fund managers.

• Strong capabilities in preparing financial and business analyses and preparing presentations.

• Ability to design and implement new or enhanced processes and controls.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Quick learner, able to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment, high sense of urgency
