Responsibilities

You will formulate and develop new product, in accordance with the latest market trends, crafting the unique selling point and critically appraise evidence to ensure the product efficacy and marketability. You are expect to provide scientific support to help market on new product launch strategy and registration.

• “Come to” person within the tech team for certain aspects of product development e.g., formulation dosage format, evidence appraisal and claims. Go to person, perceived as technical/scientific "authority", solving problems from other technical departments and markets.

• Understand details, challenge advise, propose solutions stretch beyond complementary medicine listings to cosmetics, medical devices, food, registrations etc.

• Serve Education and marketing as per need

• Challenge/modify advise, to a degree drive the outcome of ingredient review, RM manufacturers' audits and to a degree generally relationship, build quality into product while formulating, propose quality.

• Engagement with raw material suppliers/distributors and manufacturers for the purpose of product development

• Formulate and develop new products, in accordance with Applicable markets and Company Policy/SOP requirements

• Develop formulas in collaboration with the PD team based on allowable scientific or traditional evidence, providing a researched and referenced rationale for doses, potential claims and ingredient inclusions.

• Review suggested formulas and critically appraise evidence to ensure the efficacy and marketability/feasibility of material and doses.

• Provide technical input to maximise cost/benefit efficiencies for product formulations based on global strategic needs

• Respond to formulation briefs within allocated timeline

• Stay aware of competitor product activity where possible. Provide, review or improve competitor comparison with NPD/ Innovation Project Manager.

• Leading the new/potential ingredient review to ensure quick/quality formulations. Be abreast of the product, ingredient and technology trends in the industry.

• Develop industry network to keep abreast of latest ingredients available. Maintain an understanding of the manufacturing processes and limitations to take into account when developing a formula.

• Share any information on new material recently listed/approved by market regulatory authority

Experience

• Degree in pharmaceutical sciences (medical and industrial fields) or

• Degree, diploma or above qualifications in Naturopathy and/or Science discipline

• A minimum 6 years of experience

• Experience in the field of medical sciences/nutrition or pharmaceutical formulation or manufacturing or stability and analytical testing

• Knowledge of regulatory framework for Supplements, Food in APAC

• Prior experience in regional role/ cross functional team

• Proficiency in one or more Asian languages

• Technical expertise; formulation knowledge, scientific and regulatory knowledge, literature research skills and critical appraisal of evidence

• Knowledge of raw material suppliers, active and excipient ingredients and contract manufacturers
