Senior Software Quality Engineer – Medical Devices Start Up

Our client is an innovative robotic medical devices start up.

Responsibilities

• This position is for a senior-level Software Design Quality Professional who will be involved in software development through the full life-cycle process but with focus on software testing. You must have a proven track record of designing test frameworks to verify quality of tested software, preferably of embedded nature. The successful candidate will be highly experienced in driving crossfunctional software programs and must excel at effectively collaborating with team members across multiple functions
• Key role in the software engineering team in design and development test framework of medical systems on time and on budget
• Coordinate and execute regression, integration, performance, unit and system test plans
• Working with developers to resolve and debug issues
• Audit and enforce key testing related SDLC project milestones, documents and standards
• Perform defect tracking and management
• Make recommendation for determining test policies, guidelines and best practices
• Support project and initiate post mortem reviews with recommended improvements
• Interact daily with development team to preempt possible issues that will lead to lengthen testing timeline
• Develop and maintain strong knowledge of our products, features and services and how our targeted clients use them
• Set up and maintain test databases, take regular backups and restore as needed
• Review software documentation to ensure technical accuracy and completeness
• Maintain compliance as required by regulatory bodies and the company’s Quality System

Requirements

• Education in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of technology development experience as a software design quality engineer or similar technical hands-on position in software development within the medical device field is preferred
• Experience to have gone through at least one whole product design process
• Proficient in C/C++ for networking and embedded system programming
• Hands-on development in C/C++. Experience with robotics, automation or similar
• Experience in real-time operating systems like VxWorks, QNX, MQX or similar
• Strong analytical, problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Background in software engineering and programming
• Experience with IEC 62304 or equivalent is a plus
