Job description
The company is a well-funded holding company for multiple business activities, led by a young Chairman with ambitious expansion and growth plans, including taking the business public in the coming years. The focus of the holding company is to advance shareholder value creation through the establishment and acquisition of new businesses, over the long term, as measured in decades. An opportunity has arisen for a newly created Chief of Staff within the Corporate HQ here in Singapore.
As Chief of Staff reporting directly into the Chairman, this position will serve as a strategic advisor and operational leader overseeing key administrative and operational functions for both the flagship investments company and the holding company, akin to a right hand man. This role requires a high degree of financial acumen, organizational skill, and the ability to coordinate complex activities across multiple domains. The Chief of Staff will play a pivotal role in strategy development, investment decisions, and will be instrumental in establishing and leading teams as new companies are launched.
50% of travelling on average, will be expected.
The key responsibilities will include:
Financial Management and Oversight, managing and overseeing the personal investments and financial portfolios of the Chairman
Coordinate with financial advisors, accountants, and investment managers to ensure optimal performance and compliance with financial goals
Develop and implement financial planning strategies to maximize returns and manage risks
Monitor financial performance and prepare detailed financial reports for the Chairman
Oversee accounting management for personal and corporate finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial statement preparation
Administrative and operational management
Strategic and Investment Involvement, assisting in the development and execution of strategic plans for the flagship investments company and holding company
Evaluate and provide recommendations on potential investments and business opportunities
Monitor industry trends and provide insights to inform strategic decisions
Build and lead a team to support the Chairman’s personal investments and corporate activities
Establish processes and frameworks for effective team management and performance evaluation
Lead Relationship management, Risk management, Special Projects and Initiatives
New Ventures and Expansion - oversee the establishment of new companies, including organizational setup, financial management, and strategic planning
Ensure seamless integration of new ventures into the existing portfolio and operational framework
Manage the launch of new initiatives and projects, ensuring they align with the Chairman’s strategic vision
Key Skillsets and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
Proven experience in financial management, strategic planning, and administrative operations at an executive level
Strong understanding of financial analysis and investments
Ability to commit to frequent travel (~50% of time), as well as extended hours wherever required
Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks and projects simultaneously
Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information
Experience in project lead of geographically and culturally diversified team
Collaborative hands-on working style, focused on achievements
Adaptable, tenacious, self starter and self reliant
