Job description
Charterhouse is currently supporting a regional bank to source for a Compliance Manager. This is a new headcount in the team to support the their private banking arm.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working closely with the Head of Department, the incumbent will perform compliance reviews, including evaluations of Private Banking Sales Advisory, Continuing Professional Development, and due diligence for the onboarding of new products or modifications to existing ones.
You will also be responsible in conducting regular compliance reviews to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements as outlined in the Annual Compliance Plan and assess the impact of regulatory changes on Private Banking operations and provide guidance on their implementation.
Being the pioneer in the team, you will take on responsibility within the Financial Crime Compliance function. You will review customer profiles in Private Banking and carry out investigations related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML), prepare Suspicious Transaction Report (STR), and provide recommendations.
REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants are required to hold a recognized university degree and ideally have a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in the private banking or wealth management sector.
A strong understanding of the local regulatory framework and practices, particularly in relation to Anti-Money Laundering/Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT), Private Banking Code of Conduct, and MAS Guidelines on Private Banking Controls, is crucial.
Proficiency in KYC (Know Your Customer) review requirements for Private Banking clients and familiarity with the Private Banking Investment Suitability framework is good to have, not a must
The candidate should possess excellent teamwork skills while also demonstrating the ability to work independently with self-motivation and proactivity.
