Legal AVP / VP

Job description

Charterhouse is supporting a Reputable Bank to source for a Legal AVP/VP. Seated with the business, you will work closely with internal stakeholders and/or clients to draft, negotiate, review, and finalize various trading master agreements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Section Head, you will be responsible in coordinating and facilitating the execution of legal documents while adhering to the bank's relevant requirements and standard operating procedures.

You will take ownership in providing legal advisory services and support for Global Markets' existing and new products, businesses, and operations, including reviewing and advising on trade confirmations, general trading agreements, term sheets, and similar documents as requested by internal stakeholders. Coordination with Group Legal for their input on these agreements/documents is required as applicable.

You will be tasked to periodically reviewing and updating internal processes and associated manuals and address inquiries and issues raised by both internal and external Audit teams on a periodic and as-needed basis.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in legal studies/ banking/ finance with minimum three (3) to four (4) years’ experience in banking and/ or legal advisory roles, with relevant prior experience in legal drafting and documentation

• Good knowledge of derivatives/ treasury products as well as familiarity with legal concepts and regulations would be advantageous

• Being resourceful, accountable, analytical and meticulous is a must

• Strong computer literacy in MS Excel, MS Word, Power Point is required; proficiencies in system-based programs would be advantageous and preferred

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact and correspond well across departments and segments within the bank
