Job description
A leading consumer business is currently looking to hire a Director of Data Management to join their Digital team based in Singapore.
Successful candidate will be focusing on:
- Driving access and usage of data across the organization
- Providing and enforcing data governance framework
- Owning the organization’s data dictionary, inventory and architecture models
- Monitoring and resolving any data quality issues
- Generating new revenue streams through data monetization
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and enforce consistent data governance framework
- Enable data access (i.e. Appropriate user access to data domains) for data users across Singapore
- Assure data quality (i.e. Completeness, accuracy, timeliness, reliability of data sets) as required by data users across Singapore
- Clarify and manage data ownership, user and custodian roles (i.e. Define roles & responsibilities of data owners, custodians and stewards)
- Maintain data security & privacy (i.e. protection against threats, compliance with regulations) in collaboration with Data Privacy Officer
- Own and maintain a consistent data dictionary and policies across Singapore (i.e. Definitions of data attributes, taxonomy)
- Drive utilization of data and analytics
- Evangelize adoption of data and analytics within internal business processes
- Drive data monetization strategy by generating external demand for data and drive monetization
Requirements:
- Degree in a technical field (engineering, mathematics, computer science, data analytics, information systems)
- Minimum 12-15 years in management role with 5-10 years in a data-centric organisation
- More than 12-15 years in technology with at least 5 years in data management
- 5+ years in executive / strategic delivery role
- Project Management experience/certifications (PRINCE, PPMP)
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Good problem solving and stakeholder influencing skills
